Desde aquel viejo y querido álbum Ángeles Caídos (1992) que contenía una versión de “¿Por qué te vas?” de José Luis Perales, y una adaptación con letra de “Reap the Whirlwind” de la película Young Guns (titulado “Como Billy The Kid”), Attaque 77 fue una banda que siempre jugó con los covers, editando uno o dos por disco, y llevando el juego a su máxima expresión en Otras Canciones (1998), donde la banda versiona clásicos (y no tanto) de todos los tiempos y géneros.
Es por esto que no debería sorprendernos para nada que este viernes, Mariano Martinez (voz y guitarra), Luciano Scaglione (bajo) y Leo De Cecco (batería) nos ofrezcan el show “Solo Covers”. “Siempre hay algo de Otras Canciones en Attaque”, resume el bajista Scaglione, al tiempo que De Cecco nos cuenta un poco más sobre la propuesta, adelantándonos algunas cuestiones: “Vamos a hacer una lista de más de 25 canciones y quizás alguna de estas versiones covers (no la mayoría) ya las grabamos en nuestros discos, así que creemos que al público que venga le va a gustar este concierto, que más que nada es un tributo y homenaje a las bandas que nos influenciaron en su momento”.
-¿Cómo eligieron los temas para este show?
Leo: -El criterio de selección fue bastante amplio, ya que cada uno propuso los temas, algunos más que otros y luego de esa preselección quedaron los que más nos gustaron como salían en los ensayos. Hay temas de bandas tales como, Motorhead, Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Clash, Riff, V-8, Los Violadores, entre otros.
-El año pasado hicieron el show acústico, ahora se viene uno de covers, ¿es una etapa de búsqueda constante a otros formatos?
Leo: -Lo decidimos porque hace tiempo que queríamos hacer una fecha así, decidimos hacer este show antes de volcarnos de lleno a los ensayos de la gira presentación del acústico. Este concierto es como un homenaje o tributo, a los artistas que nos influenciaron y tanto nos gustan a nosotros y a nuestro publico a través de los años.
Luciano: -No solo es una búsqueda de formatos, también buscamos hacer cosas diferentes para no aburrirnos y no aburrir. Es una especie de búsqueda de desafíos, no solo desde lo musical sino también en otros aspectos.
El 24 de noviembre del año pasado, Attaque 77 regaló uno de los mejores shows del año con un histórico concierto acústico en el Teatro Ópera, cuyo CD + DVD saldrá a la luz a fines de este año. “Después de Estallar (2009), con el grupo nos dimos el gusto de hacer el acústico que nos llevo gran parte del 2011 ensayarlo y a la vez poder hacer este tipo de shows como el del viernes”, analiza De Cecco, y adelanta un poco el futuro de la banda: “La idea es hacer una gira de teatros por todo el país presentando el disco acústico: comenzamos el 19 de octubre en el teatro Nini Marshall de Tigre y pensamos que la gira nos va llevar gran parte del 2013”.
-Hay una página de Facebook que pide que Attaque toque en Obras para festejar los 25 años. ¿Se viene un festejo?
Luciano: -¡Seguro, el año que viene!
Leo: -Sí, pensamos hacer un festejo por los 25 años, todavía no sabemos donde, pero seguramente, eso será luego de la gira presentación del acústico después del primer semestre del 2013.
-Cuando se fue Ciro, una de las novedades aparte de la obvia del cambio de formación, fue la aparicion de muchos temas viejos, ¿sienten que volvió un público de "viejitos seguidores" a los shows?
Luciano: -Creo que hoy hay más mezcla de generaciones que nunca, vienen viejos fans, ¡con sus hijos! Y también hay recambio constante, sigue habiendo en los shows gente que nos ve por primera vez.
-¿Cómo fue ese momento de revivir esas viejas canciones propias?
Luciano: -Fue muy lindo. Es muy divertido reversionar viejas canciones.

Canciones como “Volver a empezar”, “Setentistas”, “Canción inútil” o el primer corte del último disco, “Días de desempleo”, son ejemplos de una lista interminable. Scaglione es contundente: “Siempre es dentro de un lugar social y no político, acompañando y empujando con lo nuestro”.
